Basic Writing eJournal  (BWe) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes traditional essays and multimodal texts focusing on basic writing issues, curricula and instructional practices. As an online journal, BWe offers all readers free online access to current and past BWe issues. Each issue of BWe also includes presentations focusing on pedagogy and book reviews of current publications.

Submissions from graduate students, teaching assistants, adjunct instructors, full-time faculty and independent scholars are welcome.  BWe aims to document effective basic writing pedagogy and curricula by teachers-researchers while offering commentary on the learning experiences of basic writing students. 

BWe was founded by members of the Council on Basic Writing (CBW) in 1999.  A special interest group of the national Conference on College Communication and Composition (CCCC), CBW regularly offers all-day workshops at annual CCCC conventions and sponsors a listserv.
